Professional membership is open to any person admitted to the practice of law before a federal court or a court of record in any of the several states, commonwealths, territories, or possessions of the United States or in the District of Columbia. Any person who is admitted to practice law before a court or administrative tribunal of a country other than the United States of America is eligible to become a foreign associate of the association.

You distinguish yourself when you become a Sustaining Member of the Association. A portion of sustaining dues are used to support educational programs and publications of the FBA. Sustaining Members receive a 5% discount on the FBA member-rate registration fees for all national meetings and national CLE events. They also receive recognition in The Federal Lawyer Magazine.
Have you heard about the FBA’s new complimentary law student membership program for all law students actively enrolled in an accredited law school and not admitted to the practice of law? Faculty advisors of an established FBA-recognized Law School Student Chapter is eligible to receive a complimentary Faculty Advisor Associate membership while serving in the faculty advisor capacity.
